David Bowie Stamps

Issued today. and freshly purchased from our local Alton Post Office.

Today is 14 March 2017 and we finally get to see the launch of the new collection of stamps in memory of the legendary David Bowie. Designed by the Royal Mail there are two themes celebrating his work one from selected recordings/albums and the other the concerts.

The recordings are portrayed as the album’s LP sleeve with a vinyl record poking out of the side, all of these cover artworks are significant designs in their own right and mark out style trends from the 1970s until now.

British stamps are often beautiful examples of miniature design and printing. One special way to celebrate a great artist’s contribution to the Arts.
